Plugin Configuration

Learn how to obtain, install, enable, and configure the System - NorrCompetition Points plugin.

The System - NorrCompetition Points plugin (plg_system_ncpoints) acts as the central engine for point mechanics. It listens to NorrCompetition events and handles balance verification, point allocation, and deduction.

Step 1: Obtaining & Installing the Plugin

The Points plugin is a commercial add-on available separately from the core component.

Commercial Add-on: You can purchase and download the plugin package from the official product page: NorrCompetition User Points.

1. Download the installation package (plg_system_ncpoints.zip) from your account on the NorrNext website.

2. In your Joomla Administrator panel, navigate to System -> Install -> Extensions.

3. Upload and install the plg_system_ncpoints.zip package.

4. Go to Plugins (System -> Manage -> Plugins), search for System - NorrCompetition Points, and ensure the status is set to Enabled (green checkmark icon).

Step 2: Accessing Points Options

Once enabled, point rules can be configured directly in NorrCompetition options:

1. Navigate to Administrator Panel -> Components -> NorrCompetition -> Options from the Joomla sidebar menu.

2. Switch to the Points tab.

Here you can configure global default rules for entry submissions, moderation, voting, as well as the Top-Up URL configuration.

Global Plugin Parameters

• Top-Up URL: Specify menu items or links where users can purchase or top up their point balance. If a user attempts a paid action without sufficient points, this link will be presented in the error notice.

• Default Point Rules: Define default costs (negative values) or rewards (positive values) for actions across all competitions.
